Terrazzo lets you photograph a room and see it redesigned. This policy explains, in plain terms, what happens to the little bit of data the app touches. The short version: we do not make you create an account, we do not ask for your name or email, we do not track you across other apps, and we do not sell anything about you.
What we handle, and why
The photo you choose. When you pick or take a photo, the app sends it to our server, which passes it to Google's Gemini image service to generate the redesign, then returns the result to your phone. We use it only to make the redesign you asked for.
An anonymous install ID. The app creates a random identifier the first time it runs and stores a daily count of how many redesigns that ID has requested. We use this only to limit abuse and keep costs sane. It is not tied to your name, email, or Apple ID, and it does not identify you personally.
Your subscription status. If you subscribe, Apple processes the payment and a service called RevenueCat tells the app whether your subscription is active. We never see your card details.
What we do not collect
No name, no email address, no phone number, no account, no location, no contacts, no advertising identifiers, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. There is no analytics SDK profiling your behavior.
How your photo is processed
Redesigns are generated by Google's Gemini API. Your photo and the generated image are sent to Google to produce the result and, if you use the "Shop this room" feature, to identify the furniture pieces in it. Google processes this content under its own API terms. Our own server does not keep a copy of your photo after the redesign is returned.
Who we rely on
We use a small set of service providers to run the app. They handle data only to perform their function:
Google (Gemini API) — generates the redesign and identifies products from the image.
Supabase — hosts our backend and stores the anonymous install ID and daily usage counts.
Apple — processes subscription payments.
RevenueCat — manages subscription status using an anonymous identifier.
Amazon — if you tap a "Shop this room" link, it opens an Amazon search in your browser, where Amazon's own privacy practices apply.
How long we keep things
We do not retain your photos. The anonymous install ID and its daily usage counts are kept only as long as needed to enforce fair-use limits and are not used for any other purpose. Deleting the app removes the install ID stored on your device.
Your choices
You control every photo. Nothing is sent anywhere until you choose a photo and tap generate.
Manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your iPhone's Settings under your Apple ID subscriptions. Cancelling takes two taps.
Deleting the app clears the anonymous install ID from your device.
Children
Terrazzo is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Our API keys are held on the server, never inside the app on your phone.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and its effective date. Meaningful changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
